Emergency services were called to the scene in Limerick City on Monday, 29 September 2025, after a car crashed into the front of a Circle K petrol station in the Thomondgate area.

The vehicle—a silver SUV—sustained damage to its front end, and the façade of the filling station was also badly hit. Thankfully, there were no reports of injuries from the incident.

Local Gardaí and firefighters from the Limerick City and County Fire and Rescue Service attended. Emergency crews erected a security cordon around the forecourt to allow for inspection of structural damage.

The vehicle is believed to have collided with the building shortly before noon. A Garda spokesperson confirmed the driver—reportedly in his 80s—was given medical attention at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
