Gardaí Launch Road Safety Campaign Ahead of Winter Weather

An Garda Síochána has launched a comprehensive road safety campaign to reduce accidents during hazardous winter driving conditions. The campaign focuses on driver awareness, vehicle preparation, and enforcement of road safety laws.

The campaign emphasizes the importance of adjusting driving behavior during winter months. Key messages include allowing extra travel time, maintaining safe following distances, and being prepared for rapidly changing road conditions.

Gardaí are advising motorists to ensure vehicles are winter-ready, including checking tire tread depth and pressure, ensuring all lights are working, and keeping windscreen washer fluid topped up with antifreeze.
