Multiple units from Dublin Fire Brigade responded to a significant warehouse fire in the Ballymount Industrial Estate early this morning. Crews worked through the night to contain the blaze, with no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Emergency Response

Dublin Fire Brigade received the first emergency call at approximately 2:47 AM on Saturday morning, reporting flames visible from a large warehouse facility in the Ballymount Industrial Estate. Within minutes, the first units were dispatched to the scene, with additional resources called in as the scale of the incident became apparent.

At the height of the operation, a total of 12 fire appliances and over 60 firefighters were on scene, working to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. The response included units from Dolphin's Barn, Tara Street, Phibsborough, and Tallaght fire stations.

"Our crews showed tremendous professionalism and dedication in containing this fire. The coordinated response prevented what could have been a much more serious incident."

— Chief Fire Officer, Dublin Fire Brigade

No Injuries Reported

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among firefighters or members of the public. The warehouse was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and neighboring businesses were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Dublin Fire Brigade commended the cooperation of local businesses and residents during the operation.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire investigators from Dublin Fire Brigade, along with An Garda Síochána, are working to determine the origin and cause of the blaze. The warehouse, which reportedly contained industrial equipment and materials, sustained significant damage.

Local authorities have cordoned off the area while the investigation continues. Business owners in the immediate vicinity have been advised to contact their insurance providers and await further instructions before accessing their premises.

Community Impact

The Ballymount Industrial Estate is one of Dublin's largest industrial areas, home to hundreds of businesses. While the fire has caused disruption to some operations, the quick response from Dublin Fire Brigade minimized the overall impact on the business community.

Dublin Fire Brigade has reminded all business owners to ensure their fire safety systems are regularly maintained and that staff are trained in emergency evacuation procedures.
