Shortly before 12:35 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a shooting incident at St. Margaret's Park in Ballymun, Dublin 11.
A male in his late teens sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the incident and was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.
Gardaí sealed off the scene and preserved it for forensic examination, with a Senior Investigating Officer appointed and an incident room established at Ballymun Garda Station to support the inquiry.
In a public appeal, Gardaí have urged anyone who may have witnessed the shooting — particularly those in the area between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm — to come forward. They are also asking for camera or dashcam footage that might assist ongoing investigations.
